A mystery behind the word Wii

By admin | August 18, 2010

wiiMany are beginning to speculate that there is one missing puzzle to the meaning of Wii, the letter “W”. Of course Wii is for “we” in general however the “ii” was given a meaning for the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play while an explanation for the letter “W” is unknown, unless of course it means nothing more then what it is there for.

But another question comes to mind, could the name have been influenced originally by Intel’s Viiv name which is a technology for a new brand of Media Center PC’s? Viiv combines many technologies into one instead of a simple chipset. Nintendo has stated in the past that “our advances in our technology will have no bearing on gameplay” for Revolution, now named Wii.
