Earth 2150: Lost Souls
By admin | January 10, 2011
Lost Souls picks up where the first two acclaimed Earth 2150 games left off, with billions of people having already evacuated Earth before its degenerating orbit leads to natural cataclysms of apocalyptic proportions. Three factions now fight to gain access to escape ships or, failing that, to take revenge on those they blame for their setbacks. Over the course of the single-player campaign, you’ll command all three forces, in either the suggested order or starting with your side of choice. Read the rest of this entry »

Echelon: Wind Warriors
By admin | January 10, 2011
Russian developer Madia earned a PCG Editors’ Choice award for Echelon when this futuristic flight combat sim shipped three years ago. An equally ambitious sequel has just made it to North American shores, and although it’s not as fresh or original as its parent game, you’ll still eat up the “blow-the-living-crap-out-of-stuff” experience.
Set in the same far-flung 24th century, Echelon: Wind Warriors is a planetary-based aerial combat sim that features 18 exotic-looking warplanes. Each of these hover-capable aircraft boasts unique handling and performance characteristics — from nimble to ungainly — with individual mission goals ultimately determining which you fly at any point. Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon
By admin | January 10, 2011
Six long years passed before Elder Scrolls fans got their sequel to Daggerfall. Thankfully, Morrowind (PCG rating: 90%, July 2002) proved worth the wait, and now the expansions are coming thick and fast.
Bloodmoon, the second add-on, takes place in the frigid island of Solstheim, where another dark threat needs thwarting.
A cast of all-new friends and enemies populates a land of frozen castles, ice tunnels, blizzards, and epic struggle. You trigger the expansion by asking any NPC about “latest rumors,” which will lead you to the northern city of Khuul, where you can take a boat to Solstheim. Read the rest of this entry »

Patch for Need for Speed Underground 2
By admin | January 10, 2011
Need for Speed is a franchise. That’s why I’m bringing the patch for Need for Speed Underground 2 on PC version. This patch fixes some pretty significant problems, such as performance Nvidia 6800 card that use high resolutions, the ability to create LAN games require Internet connection and other technical details very annoying.
The patch weighs only eight megabytes and can be downloaded by clicking here . Installation is virtually automatic and should only give after the questions put to them except that you have installed the game in another directory than the default, in which case they must guide the installation to the directory you chose (something quite easy, just have to select the folder). Emergency Fire Response
By admin | January 9, 2011
Think you’ve got what it takes to be a modern-day hero? Emergency Fire Response — known in Europe as Fire Department or Fire Chief — is a squad-based strategy game that challenges you to control a team of skilled firefighters and their vehicles.
Missions range from the somewhat easy (quenching a warehouse fire caused by arson; freeing a celebrity trapped in his burning villa) to the near-impossible (curbing the spread of a forest fire; preventing a national disaster at a flaming nuclear plant). Each of the 10 environments offers a handful of non-linear objectives, and a scripted introduction tells the story of each scenario. Read the rest of this entry »

Emergency Rescue
By admin | January 9, 2011
Emergency Rescue Firefighters, from our “friends” at Wizard Works, has a really, really cool box. It shows a brave firefighter ready to tackle a blazing inferno of death. It’s multi-layered and embossed with a cutout of the firefighter up front and raging flames in the back, all outlined with shiny, silver foil. Mmm…shiny, silver foil.
The PC game, for what it’s worth, is an isometric view action/strategy. And that means it’s like a terrible real-time X-COM with sub-Sims graphics that tries to get you caught up in the heroism and bravery of the firefighter. It fails on every level other than the indisputable fact that it’s real-time and has an isometric view. Read the rest of this entry »

Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom
By admin | January 9, 2011
For anyone who’s played Zeus, Pharaoh, or other city-building simulations from Impressions and Sierra, Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom will feel as comfortable as a new pair of shoes. Well-traveled veterans of the genre can delve immediately into yet another ancient culture, with only an occasional need to glance at the manual; the downside of this familiarity is that several questionable aspects of the series’ general design remain problems. Is this the PSP2?
By admin | January 9, 2011
Here are some interesting images that mythical PSP2, which would have been seen by some scholars who later made a description to an artist and then we come to these very well-designed images . The idea is to give a refined version of the PSP, which has almost become a dodo in recent years and that really needs some changes to compete against Nintendo 3DS Read the rest of this entry »

Old Time Baseball
By admin | January 8, 2011
By Bill Meyer
A strange irony plagues most baseball sims. Their developers, for the sake of authenticity, will exert serious sweat gathering players and stats, and create a number-cruncher to track all the hits, errors, wins, and losses. Unfortunately, these same developers also ignore the basic necessities for realistic play on the field. Old Time Baseball from Electronic Arts is a good example of misplaced intentions and energy.
The game features more than 12,000 players from 1881 to 1981, including every player and stat from the Negro Leagues. You can create personal baseball universes, as well as dream teams for match-ups between your favorite players across the generations: Josh Gibson faces Sandy Koufax, or the Babe at the plate against Rollie Fingers. Baseball enthusiasts should go ga-ga. Read the rest of this entry »

Eragon
By admin | January 8, 2011
Eragon is such a travesty from beginning to end that only a hardcore button mash fetishist could honestly enjoy this game. It’s not like the story will grab you, either: you’re dropped into a world filled with evil that has its sights on taking over a once-peaceful land. I think we’ve heard that scenario a few times before.
Its gameplay doesn’t offer much of an improvement, either. The combat system is rudimentary, only allowing you a few different melee attacks with which to smack down your opponents. No matter which kind of attack I used, though, I would just get hit with a shoulder and be stunned long enough for a slew of attacks to be unleashed on me. Attempting to block was largely ineffective. Read the rest of this entry »
